Arrakis stopped, frozen. His foot had stayed itself in mid-air, suspended from the ground. "You know I can't stop looking. You know I'll never stop." He was for the first time during his visit to the guild, afraid. And Tung was rarely ever afraid. Ever. "Another familiar face, in the place I once called home. Won't you reveal yourself to me? Dear Elizabeth?" Asked the Ghoul, pale in complection...not just because of his origin. "I do hope you've forgiven me, after these many years."
Atlas had stopped his breathing. It was held in his lungs like a hope or a plea. This wasn't it though. "I was Born with it!" He screamed, lashing out, violently with a hand in a claw shape - nails out in a brutal scratch, and then again with his other hand, curled into a fist.

A few shots were fired for Atlas’ head before Shay made a grab for his wrist, the barrel of the gun making its way straight to his throat. His sudden outburst was only mildly surprising; upon first glance, he looked like he could snap at any minute. Shay assumed that with this sporadic behavior, he’ll be dead in a minute.
Elizabeth smiled curtly. “Forgiveness is synonymous with compliance. Stop your thoughtless mission and come back.” There was a pause for an anxious breath, but with a calm and confident voice, the doctor continued, “You know how eager we are to welcome you, especially me. You’ve known this, so why do you continue to run. In fact, there has never been a reason to start running, has there? Not since you strayed from your nature with that mutt of a woman. You really have let your impulsiveness get the better.” Elizabeth kept deep within the bowls of shadow, preparing a sparkly, sterile syringe with tightly gloved fingers. Quietly, others prepared for the capture. They lined the walls and surrounded the lightless room with silenced firearms. Elizabeth hated loud noises.

Arrakis shook his head with certainty. "You know there is no going back. You're just hear to kill me anyway." The ghoul started to smile, and then started to chuckle, quitely to himself. A frightening spectacle. "Let this serve as a warning to you." The chuckle reached laughter, and Tung started to slowly walk down the stairs. He wasn't really going to do anything, he was going to accept his fate. And then go for another round of fate, ten minutes later. Did they even know that? This certainly would serve as a warning to them. Arrakis was approaching Elizabeth in the darkness now, still smiling. "Oh Doctor, I'm sick."
Atlas dropped to the floor, crumpling under his own weight. His head had a pothole in it. A neat hole where a bullet had inbedded itself inside his grey matter. The man was dead. It was obvious, his eyes held that accusing stare into nothing in particular. But right now, they looked up at Shay, staring at her, with shocked conviction. Staring forever.
Atlas awoke in the underworld, standing over his own body, with a horrified expression on his face. The man started to sob, and then began to cry.

Elizabeth took a few steps back as he stepped down into the room. He was acting expectedly, using the behaviors they had instilled against them, the behaviors she had instilled against her. It was exciting to see her own research expel something so…predictable. She flicked her hand and everyone surrounding fired at the ghoul until he was assumed to be nothing but a pile of bloody tissue. Cackling, the doctor looked at the dead man with wild amusement, then directed, “All of you, finish the mission. Kill the Rihnun girl. Get on with it,” and disturbingly mumbled to herself amongst the clatter of them filing out, “And leave her less intact than this one.”
The corpse’s look was returned with neon yellow eyes. Her heart was pounding to the point where she could hear it her head. He was frightening, even dead. But, that was no longer a matter. He was dead and she was leaving. The map crumpled in her fist as she rushed out, leaving her enemy behind in his well-deserved afterlife. Clattering footstep were heard a short distance, possibly around the corner, so Shay wasted no time in making that distance longer. Passed the bloody footprints, the dead man of black hair, more corpses, a delirious young girl, and finally…
Shay was gasping for breath as the fresh night air finally replaced the musk from the underground. There were two dead guards at her feet, but they were ignored. She turned to face the large open gates. He was definitely here, so her venture out explained. It looked like he didn’t care who figured out his presence. But upon this observation, there was a moment of hesitation. He could be furious if she returned for his sake; after all, he was there for her sake. Possibly for something a little more, and that something led her to walk back through, shoving the map in a pocket and replacing it with a shiny black handgun.

Arrakis finally got to his feet, after lieing on the floor for a few minutes. He felt...tired...he always did upon waking in a horrific, nightmare realm. Soon his senses became fully tuned in, and he could take stock of what was around him. He heard the usual perilous screams and moans of wretched souls, fighting for their unlife or clinging to their old life. But it was different here in the guild.... He heard things that made him feel scared... There were souls, from the people. From the people in the dungeons and chambers... And they were howling their stories. Of their demise, and their suffering... And almost instantly, Tung felt much remorse for the pain he had inflicted in another life, a lifetime ago.
Then he got over it. He walked back up the stairs, back into the corridor he had came from, down the hall, back through a couple of rooms, and then found what he was looking for. The body he had left relatively untouched...dead of course...but untouched.
The Acolyte on the floor shivered, violently. And then after a pause, he wasn't an Acolyte anymore...he was a Consular. Consular Arrakis Tung. The ghoul got to his feet, dressed in his hosts' Acolyte robes, before pulling up the hood. And just like that - in the space of ten minutes, Arrakis was alive once more. And heading in the direction of his estranged ex-lover. Off to butcher the doctor.

A level below might be where he was headed. After all, it contains a good number of prisoners according to the blue prints she had in her fortunate possession. The stairwell wasn’t too far away, and neither was a crowd of mixed footsteps. They’d be in her location in a minute, at the rate they were approaching. Shay readied her gun, creeping with extreme caution as another presence was heard shuffling beyond an ajar doorway. Her heart stopped as a cloak figure exited like a ghost, walking away in the direction she was headed. A glimpse told her something familiar, “Thufir?” A name possibly not many others in the guild used. Shay hoped with breathless optimism that it was him, but kept the gleaming black pistol at the ready with anxious hands.
Heels sharply clicked passed the corpse and up the shallow stairwell. Elizabeth cleaned and readied a syringe of a vile hallucinogen, a variety of others safely clipped on a most explicit thigh, as she coolly followed the acolytes.

Feeling stiff and cold from the underworld, Tung limped for a few paces before shrugging off his superficial impediment, returning to his normal pacing, walk. Behind him there were sounds, perhaps a voice - but the cover of his hood, which rested over his head, obscured the noise. This left Arrakis more focused on the task at hand. The task being the messy, hopefully-slow, and undoubtably painful death of a certain, female physician. Arrakis reaching the end of the corridor which he had just traversed, stepped through the door ahead of him, closing it behind him. On the otherside complicated matters slightly. But in an amusing way.
On the otherside, in the deep, red hallway, with heavy damp and torchlight, were four Acolytes in black, thick robes. Identical to the ones Tung was wearing. But these Acolytes weren't quite the novices or marauders he had previously encountered. These four were Officers. Leaders of warbands, and Bandit Kings or Queens, but in an organisation set deep into the heart of the world. Arrakis didn't doubt in the slightest that he could kill them, but they would certainly give him a hard time.
Approaching the quartet, the ghoul incognito, stopped just steps away from their circle. "He's dead. We got him, but the hostage is missing. She's not an issue anymore though, just kill her and stop her from getting to the outside world." "She won't even reach Royalce, and then she'll be back in the chambers where she belongs. We'll torture the bitch for 7 days and 7 nights-" "Do whatever you please, just get her. And save the obscenities till your down in the place where it belongs. We don't want another one of those cases in the middle of the Atrium or the Grand Hallway. Stick to the fucking plan!"
Tung stood there for a while, listening, blending. It felt good. He felt almost safe, right on the enemies doorstep. But the part that hurt was that he missed this. He missed being one of them. He'd had some good times, very good times. And now it was different.

Keeping ready behind a corner, Shay now prepared two handguns, one heavier than the other. Her specter disappeared before she could protest, and just then the voices began their chase. They made it a little too easy, all the Acolytes coming from one direction; shooting them would be like bowling with bullets. A quick glance followed by a shot, bam. The guy didn't know what hit him. The rest scattered like a herd of sheep, if sheep were ever bloodthirsty, through the corridor that lead to the exit. So much for escape. However, they were too slow, and there were too many of them to funnel around fast enough. With another glance, Shay fired again, this time...
Smoke cleared as the ringing desisted. Stone was spackled with shrapnel and shredded flesh. The slow majority lay in a puddle of their own failure. Shay looked at her gun, the heavier one. It was...different. It had sent an echoing vibration throughout half the area. People below must be quite confused by it. Through the mess, heels clicked across the gore of her little army. "My my, what a mess you made." But Shay ran off before any more could be said. This wasn't the time for conversation, and she, upon a single take of the nurse, wasn't about to find out what was in those needles. It was bad enough they were needles, in the first place.
Elizabeth cackled as the target disappeared. "Oh well." She made her way to the Crimson Corridor. The meeting shouldn't be too much longer. And there she stood, a figure of smooth angles and attitude against the solemn, cloaked men, very close next to one in particular. So close, her thigh nearly brushed his death-cold hand. "If you are all wondering, the girl is a little too uncontained for comfort at the moment. She's making very good use of our weapons, too, as you just heard. My assigned men lay in pieces." Everything being stated in grace gave the perception she was unconcerned, but Elizabeth was not amused. The nurse put a well-polished grip on Arrakis' shoulder, saying with rigidity, "Ms. Vehrodlein is headed back to the cells. Her efforts to find the traitorous Counsulor will be in vain, though. He's dead, and you're welcome. So when you all are finished fantasizing, go do your fucking job."

(( The theme for my post, and the current mood. - www.youtube.com/watch?v=RGqs0FzDEgw))Arrakis' black heart started to beat. The noise, upstairs, or down, wherever it was. It was the sound of a Kingshot perhaps, or something larger. The Officers around him raised their eyebrows and looked at one another, the echoing sound travelling through their taciturn, minds. Tung glanced quickly from one to the other, and then from another to the last. He lowered his head further, his missing eye hidden from view, his pale complection basking in the shade of it's hood. Whispers of suspicion and anticipation. " What was that?" " And we're certain that Tung is dead?" " She's certainly persistent." And then the doctor. Appearing from around the corner, strolling along, her heels clicking off the floor, stopping right next to him. Her thigh brushing against his hand. The memories, of her mixed with the piercing tension." We'll show these amateurs how it's done, mistress!" And the hand grasps his shoulder. His heart beats harder now, and time seems to slow. He moves so instinctively, so fluidly.Arrakis raised up his right claw to grasp the polished hand resting on his shoulder. With his left claw he reaches for the thigh so close to him, to grasp for the syringes buckled to her. And then he twists round, prepared to lunge, to claw, to maul, to maim, and murder. The Officers surrounding him stand aghast. Stunned for a brief moment.

( www.youtube.com/watch?v=oLdI7Gaamvc) She let out a gasp, like a choked scream. She couldn’t see his face, even as he looked down upon her. The death-cold hands and the silent offensive were too shocking. Upon gaining her breath, Elizabeth shrieked, “Shoot him!” Whichever syringe it was that had pierced her neck, it wasn’t going to be pleasant, and it wasn’t going to be fatal. The doctor knew this very well as she stood there, shivering. Where is my knight in shining armor…Where is my dearest rescuer…Why does she get devotion while I find death to be my captor. So be it, then. If Death is my suitor, then it shall defend me like so. If I cannot leave this place, neither shall she, or he who betrayed me. Her eyes welled up as she collapsed into temporary darkness, the insanity of the drug seeping through her jealousy. Shay wasted no time in getting back to the holding cells. But wait…nothing changed. No new traces of death, or of Arrakis. Backtracking proved to be a waste of little time she had, regardless of her haste. Back along the corridors she ran; there were more prisoner quarters. With no trace of that frightening woman, Shay didn’t stop. There wasn’t much else to discover until, reaching the stairs, an unsightly scene created a sickening knot in the pit of her stomach. A one-person massacre lay in the middle of the room. Bullets riddled the torn flesh, and shells lined the surrounding floor. Even with how unrecognizable the body was, Shay’s intuition unfortunately got the better. She stood motionless, unmoving, with darkening blue eyes swirling over the spilt crimson blood. But, she thought, he may have come back yet again. The hope was more like a plea.

((Awesome theme. Very much for Shay's current situation. Haha. I like this theme business.))
Arrakis let go of the syringe which protruded from Elizabeth's neck, and with that she collapsed to the ground, crumpling quite nicely. For him anyway. And with that the bullets came flying, a barrage. Cutting through Arrakis like headlights in the fog...... That was exactly how it was. In his mist form, the avatar raced forward, towards the first Officer on his left, and no sooner had Tung started his rush, he was now face to face with the man infront of him, close enough to see that he'd forgotten to shave this morning. A living, fleshy, ghoul claw broke through the misty skin and swiped across the man's face, ripping through his features, and recoilling him backwards. The avatar then bolted to the right, strafing towards the next Officer. The mist faded, step by step, as Tung grappled the man infront of him, turning with him till his body was between Arrakis and his comrades. But his comrades didn't stop firing. With the corpse in Tung's arms starting to collapse to the ground, the ghoul clutched the pistol in his hands and aimed it at the last two Officers. Crack. Crack Crack. Both men collapsed to the floor, leaving Arrakis alone in the corridor. With the only living person lieing on the floor behind him. The lovely Doctor.
Dragging the woman into the darkness of the corridor, Arrakis set her down beneath the shadow of an unlit lamp. From the light, one could not make out the two figures in the shadows. And they would not be bothered. "Do you hear me, Darling?"

(Along with Murcof, listening to www.youtube.com/watch?v=3OWX37veIJg)She stepped onward, gingerly past the strewn tissue, into the depths of the guild. As light grew rarer. the air grew harsher, murkier, almost garnering her a reluctance to breath. Whatever anonymities lay beyond, however unwelcome her descent into their lair may be, she was bringing him back out alive, or the closest thing to it, and upon their exit, the underground will dissolve into a nothingness lacking legacy; Shay would wipe it from Tung’s memory if she could. All this will be nothing, she thought. “ For every moment of triumph, for every instance of beauty, many souls must be trampled.” Darling. Elizabeth heard the word rolling along the air with a familiar twang. Half open eyes experienced the swirled, fictional effects of hallucination. The walls dripped, the floor flowed. With what – any guild member could share the experience. But with the site, Elizabeth smiled. “How beautiful, the mud of our steps and blood of our fingerprints riddling this underground.” She turned her head slowly to face him, amber eyes lazy and watery. “You promised a way out for the both of us, did you not?” They blinked slowly. “You did, yet here I am, and have been. And there you are, prepared to leave again, not only without me, but with someone else.” Sharply arced brows furrowed. She didn't want to leave anymore. The hope had been shoved from her heart like the man before her. This was her home, and now, the only thing she would ever love. “Unforgiveable whelp.” The doctor hissed, lurching up to bite her former hope anywhere on his reviled face. With that, she disappeared. No shadow to reflect her step, no trace of her illustrious scent. The corridor echoed, " Never again!”

(( www.youtube.com/watch?v=4jdtPwHUrpQ&feature=related - this from about 1:30. Also, loved your theme. Just then.)) Arrakis leant in towards his former lover, pistol pressed against her cheek, the skin rubbing against the steel. " As I recall you could have left with me numerous times. But you were so filled with cowardice." Tung was filled with an anger. It pitted in his stomach and threatened to spill out, pouring out of his mouth. Instead, his breath began to fill with mist. His exhales were a cloudy vapour. " Perhaps she isn't what you were. And she will never share what we shared - but she is the closest ally on this pathetic planet. As for you? I will see you burn." She spoke. Arrakis lifted his thumb up to cock-back the pistol and put an end to her infuriating existence. Bang. The woman disappeared, and the bullet hit the floor, richochetting up at the ceiling. Tung lept to his feet, his anger unbarred. Down the corridors a ghastly warcry could be heard. Hairs stood on end, and gasps were choked out in fear. " Where are you, Elizabeth?! You cannot leave this place, and you cannot hide from me!"

(The others on repeat, and: www.youtube.com/watch?v=74spJD2oEPg)Elizabeth left the man in the corridor with silence accompanied by the moaning of death, echoes from the chambers below, and her echoing tease: Better run, Arrakis.Nothing awaited her. Descending along the cold, flat ground, Shay had enough solitude to consider shoes. Blood was already dried on her toes, stained on her nails. No matter, it was probably the cleanest she’d be all night. At least, if something decided to show. The only break in silence was a very creepy echo from whence she came. Shay almost considered going back, stopping to glance back up the empty staircase. The sound of footsteps, an arrogant cackle; the needle woman was back. Shay readied her pistol, the Kingshot clutched in the right hand, just in case. The noises were headed through the doorway above, and descending. “Oh, don’t. You haven’t a clue as to where I am.” The invisible woman cooed. Shay counted the steps Elizabeth took. The staircase into the level below was ridiculously huge, many shallow steps in a wide spiral. This possibly made the climb for escapees very, very difficult. “…fifty-three…four…five…” She aimed straight ahead, over the perilous fall in the middle of it all, with the Kingshot and fired. Broken steps and falling bits of debris were all that resulted. The heel clicks stopped, and didn’t start again for a good half a minute. Before Shay could count to second thirty-one, she felt a warm, thin arm around her neck. Elizabeth held her tight, a new needle to her chest. “I could give you the solution dear Arrakis stuck in me, but that would be too pleasant,” the nurse said serenely. She was very pleased with the situation. When she looked at everything, it pulsated, alive and moving. The drug was turning the underground into a vivid dream. In not too much time, the rage would set in. “How about a something much more painful.” The black pistol was aim for the nurse’s head, quite literally, before she could blink an eye. “How about something quick and certain.” Her voice replied flatly. The cold steel pushed at the woman’s jaw, waiting for her to decide her fate. Shay, unlike many she’s faced in the guild, was just a little more reluctant to kill on the spot. Just a little.

Hearing the loud cries down the end of the corridor, three Acolytes ran, guns drawn to investigate. They were met by three gunshots. The trio collapsed into a slump on the floor. Tung's rage was smoldering. The ghoul reloaded his pistol, dropping an almost full clip of ammunition to the ground. To say that he was thinking rationally was untrue. All he could think about was the death of Elizabeth. For a moment the rescue of his friend had been eclipsed. Replaced by the old feelings bred into him by the guild. Maim, Kill, Burn.
Arrakis sprinted down the corridor inthe direction of Shay and Elizabeth, not entirely sure of what awaited him. What he found however both delighted and startled him. He'd found both of them... Locked in some sort of deadlock, stalemate, Elizabeth held a syringe to her opponent, while Shay held an oversized Kingshot to hers. The situation was a cliche scenario where there could be many outcomes. Many of them Arrakis couldn't be bothered for.
Raising up his pistol to aim at Elizabeth, he joined the fray. "And here we all are. Everything I came here for, all in one place. Well. Almost everything." Tung started to step forward, slowly, carefully. It was almost like a hostage situation...only normally Arrakis probobly would the one with the hostages...and the hostages would be dead.... This would be interesting.
