She sat on the rim of the overgrown mushroom, a spear-like object raised over her head, poised to attack. Over fifty feet below was a colony of pig-like creatures, their tusks curling up and over their heads as they grazed on the grass around the foot of the fungi.
Gripping the edge of the mushroom, she flung the spear downwards as hard as she could, aiming for one of the smaller pigs. It merely shifted to the side, letting the makeshift spear sink into the mud with a thunk With a sigh, the girl made her way down the side of the fungi to retrieve her weapon, mumbling about inabilities all the while.
Momma pig, however, was not pleased. Her eyes glowed red as she snorted, pawed at the ground, and charged. With a yelp, the girl tried to scramble back up the plant as fast as she could.
"Ahh!"

Arrakis sprinted forth, endlessly traversing the Giant's Garden, with no real ambition, goal or destination. He had no energy, so to speak of (For being somewhat undead, what was energy needed for?) and so he just kept running. The world of the living and the land of the dead were starting to become equally tiresome, and so to pass the time (Eternity O' Clock) he travelled. The world seemed to be an unimportant blur as he ran, he was barely aware of anything around him, other than there were big, giant, fuck-off mushrooms around him...and the odd tree, which he would quickly discover in about 3,2 - FWAP Acting as a clothesline, the branch caught and snapped from the velocity that Tung was travelling at, sending the ghoul soaring through the air, in a spectacular summersault.. Thud Arrakis lay in the dirt for a moment, blinking with his eye, while sighing at the futility of around about everything. Eternity was a depressing thought.
Slowly getting to his feet, the ghoul looked around, making sure no one had witnessed such an embarrassing moment. No one had. Good. However, something caught his eye at that moment. It was less the sight and more of the smell of it. It was the pleasant, strong smell of Life. The strength of it was obviously due to emotion - which was generally brought about by intense lust - which was rather disturbing at times - or fear.
Strolling forward, with not much hurry, Arrakis found the smell - which turned out to be emitted by a young woman, of an estimated age of 'Probobly between 16 and 30, I really could care less'. (Such was his current mood.) She appeared to be hunting, only she wasn't very good at it, and obviously seemed to be suffering from Peripeteia (Which has to do with getting fucked by a reversal of fortune.)
So, not seeing a reason to intervene, Arrakis sat himself down on a sizable boulder and crossed one leg over the other. Most certainly, this would be for his own amusement.

The pig creature butted straight into the mushroom's stalk and bounced back with a dazzled snort. It was probably seeing stars. "So you're not going to help her at all? How very much like you." Shay remained lazily lofted, casually swinging a leg over her branch within earshot of the comical activities. Looking down on the person, she assumed it was Thufir, though he did seem...different. How convenient they just happen to have the same want in mind. Well, at least she and the other girl were apparently hungry. Shay was just a little too dreary to help out until now; the sun was just such a warming yellow, and the air cool and still. Maybe she'll just wait a moment longer before offering a hand and spear. It had been a long day, anyway.

She was just inches above the pig, nestled on one of the thicker vines circling the giant plant. The brown-haired child let out a sigh of relief. Though the danger was not gone, it had lessened for the time being. Ette drew her knees up to her chest, arms hugging them close.
"Maybe the pigs will go away."
She grabbed the vine tight as a second pig joined in on the fun, ramming itself into the base of the mushroom. The two seemed to be drawing the attention of the group, who became agitated as well.
"Maybe not."

Without turning his head, Arrakis acknowledged Shay in the usual nod of greeting. She had this remarkable way of sneaking up on him, or bumping into him when he least expected it. How pleasant. "Of course not. It's better this way." Tung reached into his smart jacket pocket and pulled out a cigarette. He started to smoke not because of addiction, or enjoyment, but because it seemed to pass the time slightly, and the warmth of it seemed to make him feel a little bit more alive... "Perhaps you should intervene, it would benefit you to be seen as a heroine." Smiled Thufir, still not even turning to acknowledge her. "Bless her. Ladies are so cute when they're scared." The remark lacked the sarcasm or humour he had intended, due to not putting much effort into his speech.

Sloth got the best of her, and so hesitation turned into full out reluctance. Shay remained in her lackadaisical position, flicking little twigs and pieces of nothing away, until one of the little particles decided to ruin the peace within her area. It hit a rampaging pig-thing in the eye, thus sending it into the trunk of her tree. The vibrations barely reached her. "Maybe they'll just beat themselves into an exhausted death." She remarked with a long sigh. Oooh, the word 'exhausted' rolled off the tongue so ironically. She could feel the word sink into her psyche with a heavy, lulling...
Shay then fell asleep.

And suddenly, it stopped. One after another, the pigs moved onto a new target, a ways off. First, relief. Ette gave a shaky sigh, loosening her grip, letting her shoulders relax. They were gone, a least for now. Second, curiosity struck. She hopped down, pulling her weapon from the mud as she followed the creatures. If they weren't up for being dinner, maybe whatever they were following would be. Ette found no such luck, as their target was a woman, asleep in a tree, and Ette wasn't in the mood for cannibalism, really. "Um, excuse me!" She called, voice low so as not to attract the pigs. Of course, calling quietly did not attract the lady either. She choose to crouch behind one of the larger boulders to watch, not noticing the person perched atop.

Arrakis shook his head with a small smirk. "No, I doubt they'd get tired, just from this." He remarked, still not looking over. He was aware that Shay's piece of twig had been flicked at a nearby pig, however, he was suprised and a little disapointed to find that the boars had now turned their attention from the unfortunate girl, to his more favoured companion....And he was now aware that his favoured companion was now asleep in a tree.... And there were pigs trying to get her down from there...
Tung sighed in annoyance, oblivious to Ette beneath him. "No pigs, stop that please...." Nothing really happened..and the pigs didn't speak human. "...Bad pigs...stop that..." Still no effect. Arrakis finally reached into his jacket pocket to bring out his pistol, and loaded it slowly, with a satisfying click. Finally he took a potshot at the group of 'predators', not really aiming at anything in general. Perhaps a warning shot would scare them all off.
And why was Shay asleep? How lazy of her, how ignorant - especially in Tung's presence.

She noticed too much chaos from down below, and was too distracted by those around her to really want to fall deep asleep. Then there was a vague and familiar sound, a click. Tung's pretending to be reluctant in firing it was almost comical, but then an obnoxious bang echoed away the smirk. Shay sighed and looked over, still mostly indifferent to the strange scenario. “Now what’s that all about.” She recognized his lack of hesitation in getting firearms involved. Not much has changed, perhaps. Not that that's a bad thing. “They’re just little pigs, after all. Just little, simple balls of energy with nothing better to do.” And until they went away, she would have nothing better to do than to simply lay up there. Then again… “…but maybe you can help our little friend behind you.” Quickly, though, before they all decided to acknowledge the fact that they were in a bit more danger.

Ette froze. The action did not do much to hide her, as she had already been spotted. Spotted and called out. She pointed her spear up at Arrakis. "Don't touch me," she warned, voice stronger than she looked. A spear against a gun was a losing situation. "The pigs bite." Information they probably already knew. "Don't touch them. It stings." Again, what was that going to help? She kept the weapon pointed at Arrakis, yet eyes on the pigs, who were still surrounding the tree. "You can eat them. Don't eat me. Eat them."

Turning to face the young girl, Tung smiled broadly to himself. The girl obviously wasn't used to seeing a ghoul. Pointing her spear up at him, she looked prepared, if not silly - the girl reaked of bravado. "Eat them? Why would I eat them? Besides, young girls are much tastier than fat pigs." Arrakis looked over to Shay and laughed slightly. "Do you know even know how to use that pointy stick, you call a spear?"
Eyes back to the pigs, the man suddenly started to remember what it was like to eat pork, and bacon, and other assortments of tasty meals. He wonder if he still could have food. Even though he didn't really get a hunger anymore, he still missed those lavish cooked dinners he used to get. Arrakis found himself hungering for the past, and not the pork, but somehow the promise of pig would bring back that feeling of being very much alive, and not in a permenant half-life.
Blinking once, Tung decided to fire another pot shot at the pigs, again not really minding if his bullet hit anything in particular..

The gun firing was becoming a little obnoxious, but at least it cleanly hit one of them this time. With the death of a comrade, the other beasts ran off. Now that that’s over, “Neither of us plans to eat you, and I can speak for myself when I say I’ve never eaten a person before. I’m not sure what is to be said for him, though.” The tone she spoke with made it appear as though she found the situation gratuitous. Shay sat up and examined the girl’s ‘weapon’. If it even came to it, she was certain her metal could defeat the stick any day. The little girl seemed harmless, though. Maybe even innocent. A quick look at Thufir told the wanderer that he was indeed different, reminiscent of decease. “Thufir, you look…a little malnourished. It may be time we all had a bite.”

Arrakis smiled with an intrigue at the concept of having a meal for a change. Funnily enough, he didn't seem to mind if it were the girl or the boar. Although admittedly the boar was already dead, so it did seem more convenient... "Perhaps having a picnic would be a good idea then, or more fittingly a barbecue." He suggested, standing up on the large rock. "Shay, your a bit of a survivalist aren't you?" Tung dropped off the rock onto the grass below, with a light thud. "Think we could get a fire going?"
Tilting his head to one side, Arrakis took his time to mock the young girl's hunting spear. "Your spike is more like a toothpick, how did you sharpen that thing?"

Ette didn't like the smirk on the man's face. She didn't like his looks either. Bad vibes were coming off of him. There was something deathly about the man, but she wasn't about to ask about it. She got a slightly less menacing feeling from the woman. If anyone was going to eat her, it would be the man. The girl inched closer to Shay, away from Arrakis. "It's not a toothpick! I used a rock. " This explanation was not as hardcore as she had meant it to be, and she quickly tried to amend it. "Lots of them." That would surely win them over.

Shay rose and took to looking around their little patch of the Garden. “A fire wouldn’t be too difficult. No so much as sharpening a stick with a handful of rocks would be.” The wanderer might be the only one of them with a decent set of natural survival skills, it seemed. “So, what’s the name of our guest? You aren’t exactly accustomed to living abroad and finding strangers are you. And exactly how old are you, anyway?” If she were to join them, which would only be fair, it’d be nice to actually have some familiarization. Spare the uncomfortable silence. “And Thufir, be nice. Don’t scare her away to starve elsewhere, now.” A flat plot of ground was stopped upon with neatly bound and bandaged feet. Decent patch for flame. Sticks, stones, these things, and those. Maybe the girl, with her apparent love of lots of rocks, can help build a fire ring. And Thu better not be thinking of just sitting around while the women cooked and did what were apparently women things. Oh no, he’ll get his hands dirty and like it! >:3
